Barry Wax (Class Of 1963)

I regret to inform you that Barry Arlen Wax, BCHS class of 1963 and a friend of many of us, passed away this week in Gulfport. His obituary follows. Rest in peace, Barry. You will be greatly missed.

Barry Arlen Wax, 74, of St. Petersburg, FL, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2019. Born in Ann Arbor, MI, he moved with his family to the St. Petersburg area in grade school; graduated Boca Ciega HS (1963), where he still holds the shot put record and is a member of the BCHS Hall of Fame. Member of Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity, he earned his undergraduate and law degree from Tulane (1970), and settled in Treasure Island, and then Gulfport. An accomplished attorney and businessman, Barry contributed to countless organizations and made friends wherever he went. His passions were his children, grandchildren, family, friends, boating, reading by the pool, and Barry's Gourmet Brownies. He was surrounded by his family as he passed, much too soon. Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Elaine and Kenneth. Barry is survived by his children of spouse Laura, Melissa (Dave), and Jon (Brenda), and of spouse Judy, Ashley (Alvin), and Eric; grandchildren, Jameson, Kennedy, Audrey, Nathan, Carter, Ariana; siblings, Cheri (Mike), Wendy (John). Services Sunday, February 10, 1 pm, at Temple Beth-El, 400 Pasadena Ave. S., St. Petersburg, FL, followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
