Gary B. Bowen, 55, of Gulfport, died Saturday (Oct. 16, 1999) at home of cancer. A St. Petersburg native, he retired from work with Publix Supermarkets and was most recently employed as a pool technician at Town Shores Condominiums. He was a graduate of Boca Ciega High School and attended Florida State University and University of South Florida, majoring in music. He was an animal lover. Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Deborah; two daughters, Sarah Mace and Jennifer Bowyer, both of St. Petersburg; a son, Christopher, Columbus, Ohio; his mother, Margaret Sweat, a brother, Wayne, a sister, Joyce Dove, and two grandchildren, Annalee Bowen and Chuckie Mace, all of St. Petersburg; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
