Anne Godfrey (Stern)

Anne Godfrey (Stern)

I have just learned from Bob Angle of the death last month of our classmate Anne Godfrey Stern. Her obituary is posted below.

**********************************************************************************************************************

Anne V. Stern, age 74, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 13, 2019, at Largo Medical Center in Largo, FL. She was born January 31, 1945, in Wisconsin.  Anne was married to the love of her life, Edward L. Stern, who passed away in 2006.  Anne truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures:  chatting with friends and family, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren. Anne had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. Anne was loved by so many and will be in our hearts forever.  She is survived by her mother, Karen Godfrey; her sons, Adam (Melissa) Charney and Brett (Lydia) Charney; grandchildren, Billy Charney, Sophia Charney, Jake Charney; Family, friends, and others whose lives Anne touched. Per Anne’s wishes, the cremation will take place Wednesday the 18th of December and the scattering of her ashes shortly thereafter.  The family is grateful for the condolences, but declines flowers and donations

I have many fond memories of Anne.  We met as classmsates in Junior High and were friends throughout high school and beyond.  We stayed in touch over the years and I visited her several times when I returned to St. Pete to see family and friends.  I last heard from her about a year ago.  Anne was always smart and lively, curious, friendly and caring.  She lived a full life and I will always miss her bright smile and good humor.  We laughed a lot together!  Joan Woodworth

Had a "crush" on Anne Godfrey while we were in the 5th grade at Gulfport Elementary.

Sad to read of all the classmates who are no longer with us.
