Be a Mentor

Do you know how easy it is to become a mentor? Being a mentor to a school student is our latest "Did You Know?" topic. According to the Pinellas County Schools website, "it doesn't take much time to make a BIG difference in a child's life." The site has a listing of workshops to prepare volunteers for this role as well as a link to testimonies of how it has made a difference to the students benefitting from the mentorship.

Jo Ann (Taylor) Rosell recently shared with us some of the personal joys she has experienced from her mentorship of two middle school students this year. She says she is never sure where each weekly session will lead, whether assisting with schoolwork, confiding difficulties the student is experiencing, or just sharing and caring; but she is there and she cares, and this is what makes a difference in the students' lives. We each have so much to share, and the need is great! Post your stories on this User Forum thread.
