Boca Ciega High School
Class of 1962

Welcome to the Boca Ciega High Class of 1962 website. We want to stay in touch with one another, and this site also makes it easier to plan future reunions and other special get togethers. Please log in periodically to make address, phone number, and email address corrections and to post photos of yourself and loved ones (grandchildren?), where you've been, and what you've been doing. It's a great way to make us feel close, despite distances that may still separate us.

Guests members who have special ties to 1962 BCHS graduates may contact Carol (Hill) Gruszka at carol@prismeffects.com or Sandra (Stacey) Dunn at sdlesw@gmail.com to receive a link to join the site. [Please note: This site is maintained by unpaid volunteers. If we don't respond immediately, we may be traveling, but we'll be home soon.]

ANNOUNCEMENTS

2023 Christine Baker Memorial Scholarship Recipient -- As most of you know, we 1962 graduates have contributed to (and raffled for) funds to support the Christine Baker Scholarship Fund for many years. This scholarship has been awarded annually to a deserving BCHS music student for college expenses. The recipient of this year's scholarship, Angelina Campbell, has been involved with the BCHS music department all four of her high school years; and her teachers say she "continually strives to do her best, has an amazing attitude, and is respected and admired by her peers." This year, Angelina made All State, the first time EVER a BCHS music student has been so recognized. Angelina will continue her music in college. Quoting Joe Sipiora, BCHS Music Director, "She is one of the most amazing students I have ever had." Thank you for your support of this award across the years; and thank you, Jenni, for having conceived and executed its fund raising for 12 years.

Classmate Al Satterwhite's eleventh book -- Paul Newman, Blue-Eyed Cool -- was published in June 2022. In addition, his 12th book -- Al-Satterwhite-Photography -- a 50-year retrospective, is now available for pre-order from Amazon. Who knew Al's photos of our 1962 football games would lead to such a career? (For more of Al's bio and publications, see fly-out under Classmates in the News.)

Guest website member (since 2013) Gary Miller's new book, How America Is Being Destroyed from Within, has been published in paperback and is available for purchase on Amazon at the following link: How America Is Being Destroyed from Within. It includes many personal stories of his life through the lens of the 1960's, common experiences we all shared through these turbulent times and their resulting shift in society.
